GOD our Lightbulb

GOD is our lightbulb. To have God is to have light. God is like the only lightbulb in the house and if you turned Him off, you'd be left in the dark. You will see nothing, hear nothing and feel nothing. You will grope and fall and lose your way.

Many people are in the dark because they do not have GOD. If GOD suddenly appear, HE will become like a spotlight and they will all run away. They have spent too long a time in the dark, gotten very used to it and even enjoyed it. They have morphed and produced out of their forehead a tentacle at the end of which is a mini lightbulb which glows in the dark to attract passerbys and before they know it - chomp! - find themselves gobbled up whole into a dark abyss.

I guess I am also in the dark ya. Maybe because I have not been to church for very long time. Maybe because I've not done what I'm supposed to do or not done enough. I mean it's all just feelings, right? It's hard to go back to church. Too many variables, history, people, tasks. So I see GOD as a very distant dim light, there, but ever so faint. Perhaps in this dimness, I learn to walk by faith and not by sight? But GOD has always been with me, giving me a life I never deserved, pushing me forward to His Truth, just enough of a torchlight so I can slowly inch towards Him.

I hope GOD never turned off His Light on me.
